The problem

The NBFC had spent 6 months and significant budget with a previous vendor. The platform was 40% complete, had no automated tests, and the deployment process was manual SSH into a single EC2 instance. The previous team had left, and the NBFC needed to launch before a regulatory deadline.

The approach

We audited the existing codebase in 3 days and presented a brutally honest assessment: keep the data models and API contracts, rewrite the frontend, and add CI/CD before writing another line of feature code. The client agreed. We chose to not migrate databases — the schema was sound, only the application layer needed rescue.
